No he’s a beta. You might think why ML likes him, bec they’re highschool classmates, and he looks like his brother the guy with white hair. And spoiler Dobin and ML unknowingly marked each other when they were young. That’s why ML hates other beta’s scent, and Dobin doesn’t give off strong scent. If the beta likes ML or not we don’t know yet since S1 ended with ML finding out not really finding out but he’s having a suspicion Dobin is his sex therapist.
