my two cents

okay i understand that the MC has flaws (as does every character in this manhwa), but I don't understand the recent hate comments directed at him. like don't people see that the main issue in jiho and inwoo's relationship is their lack of communication?

like inwoo doesn't fully understand why jiho is so insistent on hiding their relationship and their sexuality, while jiho doesn't know the complete story about inwoo's past. all jiho knows is that inwoo's father was abusive and that inwoo's mother left. inwoo even lied about his mother, which only led to more misunderstandings. jiho thought he was helping, but because he didn't know the whole story, he ended up making a mistake. as a result, inwoo, in a moment of impulse, did what jiho feared the most: exposing their sexuality in public. both of them made mistakes.

soooo, i guess what im trying to say is that the two characters are so complex that we cant just easily pick one side or decide whether one is right and one isn't. especially when both are trying to make things work. miscommunication is a common issue in relationships, especially when sensitive topics like past trauma and sexuality are involved. it's understandable why both of them might react impulsively or make mistakes given their lack of understanding about each other's experiences.

it makes me think deeply how could anyone think otherwise? i usually just let go of the comments that i disagree with because anyone has their opinions but some comments are over the line. like did we even read the same manhwa? seriously.

They problem was indeed the lack of communication and the understanding coming from it. They talk, but they're fail to understand each others wants/expectations/needs etc. That is not 'communication'.

But despite not understanding Jiho, Inwoo never force him to display their affection in public. He respect that boundary until he snaps at Jiho for forcing himself to reconcile with his mom. He try to give Jiho a point there. While it is certainly wrong, he didn't do that for the sense of 'doing the right thing' like Jiho believe that's what he did for Inwoo. So, their level of wrong doing is different.

yes, i understand their mistakes are different. but as i mentioned, jiho pushed inwoo to reconcile with his mother because, despite not knowing the full story, inwoo lied to jiho, leading him to misunderstand that inwoo was okay with it. inwoo even admitted that he lied because he didnt want jiho to worry. this is why i said that miscommunication is the main issue in their relationship. of course, jiho crossed a line by not consulting inwoo first, even if his intentions were good. and inwoo, too, has his faults. they both contributed to the situation, which is why i think its unfair that one of them is getting hate. when in reality, neither deserves it. theyre both just trying to navigate a difficult situation.

both jiho and inwoo are dealing with their own personal struggles and past traumas, which affect their decisions and how they communicate with each other. reducing the conflict to who was "more wrong" misses the point that they're both flawed but learning. i think its important to recognize the growth potential in both characters instead of focusing solely on their mistakes.

THANK YOU SO MUCH I had someone fighting on my comment a few chapters ago and it was crazy how it seems like they didn't really understood Jiho's actions
