Personally I think he's just very young and inexperienced. With his age comes the immaturity and the insecurity he feels around seme.
I mean- he didn't even have a one night stand until he was 23 which other characters and myself are like "wow you're so traditional". And he thinks there's a step by step guide to getting a good boyfriend when all he really wanted was d*ck! A little naive and hypocritical but that just makes it more entertaining to watch him grow! (Hopefully) I think he has his cute moments as well.
A longshot but I'd eventually like to see what kind of parents he had in order to grow up that way.
