At least most of them are somewhat useful and less annoying than expected... it also helps that he acts alone 70% of the time and doesn't drag them along. Sure, it would be nicer if at least 1 or 2 of his closest helpers were guys and the harem part less exagerated... but it's inescapable regarding male oriented manhua... I think it's a bit of a pity because it distracts of the plot and albeit cliché it is quite interesting.
