I agree with your points, I just wanted to clarify (for myself most probably because I could be wrong) but aren't the current elves a descendant of the dark elves? They're stationed in the forest as protectors of the land as a way to avenge what their ancestors have done.
ATP I’m so tired of shonen stories making dark elves (with dark skin) the evil ones and the elves that are basically white are good (as a race in general). It promotes propaganda that inherently darker skin always has to be associated with evil or dark powers and it’s so wrong especially in a world (our world) where dark skin isn’t even remotely free of horrible stereotypes that have historically caused multiple genocides against us. It honestly hurts to keep seeing it. Like I can’t keep trying to justify it in my head when I read stories like these just cause the plot is good. It’s mentally exhausting fr
