Locking Ian up would actually make him worse. My understanding from what other Jo fans kept talking about a while back, as they pretended never to have said that he was a “green flag” is that we’re just slowly seeing that Jo also has a possessive and darker side to him. Confirmed by the author or so they say. I don’t follow twitter or blogs so I’m taking their word for it and the story has hinted at his possessive nature a few times already.

yes thankfully jo hasn’t done anything that harmed ian physically and mentally, i never said he was a green flag that’s why i acknowledge his growing obsession, jo also often have inner monologues where in that monologues his obsession not even the slightest he plan or even think about hurting and harming ian, it was always based on how he’s trying to make ian happier

Lol relax, the point being made here is that some of Jo's behavior gives him the potential to be that kind of character. We've seen TJ's worst already, so we can only speculate as to what Jo's worst might be. So far, is worst is fkng Ian while unconscious and according to the author, there will be more to explore as far as his obsessive streak goes. This was just the tip of the iceberg.

I don’t remember the exact chapter, but in the early chapters of season 1, we had a flashback to explain how Ian ended up in jail. Basically, one of their soldiers came to kill him (my guess is he was under Jamie’s orders) and Ian killed him instead. When TJ and his second in command got there, Ian told TJ that he didn’t feel anything after killing that guy and that he felt that he had become a monster so he needed to leave the gang. TJ could’ve made it so Ian wouldn’t do jail time for killing the guy, but allowed it to happen because he believed that time would be enough for Ian to rethink his decision. He also tied Ian to him through protection money so even if Ian got out of jail, he wouldn't just leave town until it’s all paid. TJ thought he was being slick when he did all that, then in the big fight they had mid-way through season 1, Ian stated that he knew all about TJ’s schemes and was tired of them going into circles, etc. It was probably their first huge fight ever because in the end, Ian cried alone over it and TJ left angry. Remember the flashback that people were fighting over in the comment section? When we found out that Jo saw them walk back to each other but quickly got to Ian so they wouldn’t meet? It was right after that fight. They were on their way to talk again or make-up. TJ and Ian didn’t meet or speak again until the end of season 1.
Im sorry but the story seems to be hinting that Jo is gonna loose it and maybe try and lock Ian up... :/
