The time pine doesn't add up, like its a plot to kill her, they are going to kill the guards and kill her immediately. The soldier said they didn't get a reply from the guards and ML got back. How can he get there so quickly? Even if the fight was in front of the castle, that wasn't bc he rode a horse, he still wouldn't get there in time
That depends entirely on when the guards died. I just assumed they didn't die immediately, but they also weren't able to return the signal.
Signal not being returned =/= assassin is in the room RIGHT NOW
But yeah, he did get there way to quick considering they were in the heat of battle, I'm not defending that. I'm just saying he probably got the signal before the scene played out. It would've flowed better if they had put the battle scene first
Optimistically speaking they killed the guy with the flare or whatever first. They were planning for soldiers, but they got assasins who know what they're doing in terms of stealth.
If we're being generous we could say that the author applied Murphy's law really hard lol
But at the end of the day this chapter was a MESS! Clearly they didn't think about the logistics at all. I just love trying to fill plot holes with my own theories for fun. I feel like taped duct tape over a sinkhole lmao

It was obviously the lord was suspicious, the assassin was terrible and are you telling me, the ML got there in seconds?? Wasn't he just fighting in the war? The power of the MC to survive here is strong...
