in the remaining two days they basically wind up just cuddling and watching movies while mai is still chained up(i don't understand why either but that's a thing.
in the novel they don't secretly date, they fess up to their parents rq. Basically the bro manipulates the situation and makes them agree to them dating mostly for and they basically come to the agreement that they get married when they get older.
There isn't much of their dating life shown and im not sure if their peers in school knows they're dating, but they are depicted to be close enough that people make note of it.
Anyways, they live happily ever after with no one dying. Apparently, having someone who accepts his preferences is enough for ML ¯_(ツ)_/¯.

the novel is actually really good tho, it made his internal conflict of wanting to kill mai and wanting mai to live really interesting to read.
idk how to explain it but at some point you just cant help but feel sorry for him cuz his obsession with death and killing is depicted as something similar to a beloved hobby you just cant let go.
