i mean yeah the empress is a terrible person (great villain tho) but the uncle isn’t a good person either - his care for ettiene was clearly conditional and all it took was a split second of his wealth being taken away for him to hate a child who had nothing to do w it. they’re all bitches tbh imo !

God, I hate that empress even more now. Bitch destroyed a potential wholesome relationship with the child and uncle (well, half-uncle in this case?). Given the ages, he would have made a good, kind older brother figure to MC.
The art depicts it so well. That half bro was a young man with burning eyes full of shine and passion. He had some sense and morals. He was so ready to take over the duchy and possibly even help the prince out. I feel bad after seeing that last panel, heart dropped when he decided to turn against uke. That young man who could sympathize with the mc, turned into a hateful, greedy old codger.
All ruined in one go by that cunt.
Disclaimer: I have forgotten what the uncle did in season 1. So if he did commit harassment and unforgivable things to mc, then he deserves to receive punishment.
