It’s his preference but also he came from quite extreme poverty. He’s used to and more comfortable in a place that doesn’t feel like a mansion because although he now has “fuck you” money, he doesn’t feel “fuck you” rich. ML however is both and back then, our baby boy felt uncomfortable with how huge the house was and kept commenting on it so I guess their joint house is more of a halfway point.

I know lots of people in real life who grew up in poverty and later became rich asf. They are very frugal with their money and tend to be more wary of how they spend it. I know two politicians in my area who still continue to live at their old homes but they renovated it a little. Still driving their old cars or the first car they bought. It's just preference I guess or it's imbedded in their mindset due to their upbringing.
