I personally think the bottom is a very flawed character with a lot of trauma and behavioral issues to fix.I believe the scene where he cries is his actual emotions slipping out without him realizing.He is so deep in denial that the only think he thinks of when being manhandled and in pain is how he likes it.Yes of course he could be an m but that's beside the point.He hasn't been in stable relationships till now.Also he was a child star so that means he learned from pretty young that all stuff are transactional and that he is mainly liked for his pretty face.
Honestly I can't wait to see him grow as a person.
