Also I guess he gave up assisting on shoots around Taiga’s age. And at that age our world is small, and just starting to get bigger — and that is scary.
That going on along with those betrayals in relationships make sense why Kei would go down those decisions in life. But hey, life is change!
The author has set the plot really well but in my opinion not established the individual character of Kei as much, because were given information without sufficient emotion to latch onto it, which would’ve made more natural an understanding that comes from empathy and feeling the character’s past.

Could not agree with you more! Life definitely involves change, and those experiences can shape how characters evolve. However, I feel that while the author gave us some context for Kei’s actions, you’re right that there could have been more emotional depth. Establishing stronger emotional connections with Kei’s past would have helped us better understand and empathize with the his choices on a deeper level.
I hope on the next chapter, Kei will give a chance to Taiga and maybe, just maybe allowing himself to change and have confidence to think that he deserves happiness as well.
Last time, I really had a hard time to trust other people due to the betrayal of my own family member. The level of insecurity to get to know someone new was high. Kinda took me loooooong enough to actually open up to people and to understand people are different..individually.
Reading the past 2 chapters, now I know why people surrounding me said it’s tiring to deal with me during that time. I’m frustrated with Kei, it’s like seeing my old self ( ̄∇ ̄")
