Kenkyo Kenjitsu is literally the perfect example of a "slow life" story. And its genuinely annoying how authors and mangakas name their story as a slow life story (I'll open a café, I'll be a food pioneer, I'll make potions, I'll just enjoy slice of life ...) as bait then throw a bunch of fantasy epic adventure events where MC is emotionally and physically tortured and runs into trouble despite claiming they want to stay away from drama etc.
The sad reality is that the average consumer what things served immediately. Have the romance happening in the first chapter. Have the villain defeated in chapter 6. Have MC gain status of "genius" and overpowered in chapter 2.
Kenkyo Kenjitsu was the polar opposite it take its time and realistically made the character not get instant love when there barely interact with each other. And viceversa, people with lots of interaction with the others doesn't mean they get "love" is granted automatically. And made total sense some character aren't interested in romance either too.
In Kenkyo Kenjitsu we can't tell whos endgame at the start of the story.
Anyways Like many I'm sad it was dropped. I was really hoping the "training with kaburagi and his friend" would blossom something. And y'know Reika handing her crown of alone-single's village to someone else.

but the names are so similar
