LoL true. Imo kids in entertainment business is always about money and fame. Especially a famous one like MC. Of course I'm not saying that the adults around him are money crazy or addicted to fame, but they do need to watch his choices carefully, since he's already a big name. Basic scanning of works will make him choose easier and take less of his time, since he's, you know, a kid? He still needs to go to school, play, eat and so much sleep.
From what I can see, MC already has a LOT of freedom over his choices. Usually I don't think kid actors even get to pick what they will act in. If there's nothing interesting, he will tell them. And the adults already know what he likes, so obviously they pick the works he might be interested in. Also, based on his personality, if he didn't like what the adults are doing, he would definitely tell them. He's not afraid to confront an adult, part of why adults like working with him.
I’m not disagreeing with that, but people in the spotlight has a lot of influence. A popular actor’s involvement in a project is more than enough to persuade viewers to watch. They’re not forcing Seojun to any single project, they’re just selecting a sample from the ones offered they think are likely to succeed. Decision fatigue is also exceptionally grating, and as we’ve both established, he’s a KID. He has school and other activities he should be participating to enjoy his childhood. Leaving him to read through and analyze every single given script will take away so much time he could be using to play around and be a kid. Call it control however much you want, I’d call it a smart system for business. Also, this is South Korea. This is a country that is willing to let 13 year olds debut in an idol group. This is South Korea, a country that picks up kids much younger than that and exploits their passions for a quick buck. This is the entertainment industry, the underlying willingness of higher-up to use children and their passions will always exist. I’m not saying it’s morally right, I’m just saying you have to be objective about all this.
