my obvious bias aside, promoting low tide in twilight where taeju raped euihyun chapter 1 then he "gets better" only to give him a fucking rape baby during his "growth" is insane. if you want to make a point about how much you dont want to see sexual assault, low tide in twilight is NOT the one. define the relationship was iffy during ash's rut, but it was nowhere near portrayed as genuine rape nor did karlyle act the part. he didnt want to fulfill a fetish? chapter 1 he stops euihyun from killing himself then sticks his dick in him lets be fucking fr

You people who commented here probably misunderstood what I'm trying to say so I'm gonna repeat it.
1. I didn't like how people were glossing over the fact that Ash was being very disrespectful to Lyle during the rut arc. The author seemed to just enjoy showing that Ash, someone who was already shown to be capable of being a decent guy, just forego everything and disregard the comfort and safety of his partner Lyle. To me it was like he started off as a good person then devolved into a beast. To me it just seemed like the author wanted to prolong the story but it ended badly. I can't get over that fact so I dropped it.
2. I fucking know how terrible Waterside Night is, especially at the start. But I like how the author of Waterside Night showed that it was entirely possible to have remorse and try to make up for all the terrible shit Taeju did to Euihyun in the past. It was a character growth moving forward, not backwards. It was realistic enough to show that life is not all sunshines and rainbows and their relationship is not good, but it is what it is for them. Hell if that happens to me I'm sure I'm gonna go crazy in a bad way, but I still admire Euihyun for being strong despite it all. Thus, I'm saying I admire the author of that story for being able to show that.
Fuck off if you still don't get it.

girl whatever you genuinely with your whole chest said "taeju wasnt being abusive just to fulfill a fetish regarding nonconsensual sex" and i was hoping you might realize how insane that is because first of all theres no excuse for being abusive and second of all thats just not true like at all.
promote your abuser and victim manhwa all you want because hey i mean its true its definitely better than shit like jinx or codeana, but dont act like you're somehow better than others in the comments for noticing the assault in define the relationship when u immediately after praise an assault manhwa

I'm sorry what..
Did you just compare Taeju to Ash. They are not one in the same. Not even close.
I think you should have used someone else as an example in my opinion.
The worst thing Ash did was not communicating correctly when it came to his rut. Mostly driven by fear. But he actively tried to keep Lyle safe.
I am not even going to list off all the bad things Teaju did and I do not care if it was for the sake of his character development.

Lol in what way have I said that I'm better than anyone? I'm entitled to say why I like Seo Jinha and Cha Hyunjoo , why I like Taeju, and why I don't like Ash. I said my piece, and if you don't agree then go and be on your way. This is the freaking internet, I don't have to prove anything to you lol have a nice day

Man love the fights in the comments here for it.. water side night.. when I first picked it up it only had 50 ISH chapters.. I ended up dropping it BC of all the rape and shit.. but as it continued updating I said fuck it and gave it another try... The rape had turned me off but I do like the character development taeju had.. I get what the author was trying to portray. Taeju is still a pos don't get me wrong. But he also did try to make up for his wrongs.. also.. euihyun and taeju didn't know of the pregnancy until he miscarried.. the baby shown in the authors note at the end was a different baby they had together. Presumably consensual.( ̄∇ ̄")

You explained it perfectly! Finally! Someone who gets it!! I fucking hated that Ash at the end even said, "I did mean everything I said though." BITCH! YOU FUCKING INSULTED HIM OVER AND OVER I BED CALLING HIM A SLUT AND SHIT! Wtf! I was so disappointed. She wanted to give him a flaw, but to be an abuser is NEVER okay. She just ruined his character. I wish it ended at like chapter 89 instead of 97.
Also, with LTIT, it ended so badly too. He also raped him when Euihyjng said he can be perverted and Taeju said, "not until you say you'll stay with me." that's abuse. And he kept going and going. Why do all these good manhwas pull this shit.

Finally, someone else gets it.
I think it's okay to still like Ash and the entire story despite that part, and I'm totally directing this to that deranged fan who tried attacking me above lol. But don't delude yourself into thinking it was ok coz it's not.
But have you actually finished LTIT?? If you did you'd see that they were still both messed up at the end but it ended on a hopeful note. Trauma of that scale doesn't magically disappear. And the depiction of that, how realistic it was, that's what I liked about that story.

100% I think Ash isn't as terrible, but I just hate the fact that THAT had to be his flaw. It had to be one of the shittiest way to treat his partner like complete trash. And also, it was so last minute imo.
Oh yes, I did finish it. I have many issues with the ending of LTIT. But I'm not going to go into the details of that, I am strictly talking in the fact that the author put on there for Taeju vow that he wouldn't hurt Euihyun or force him again, and yet, as soon as Euihyun gives him an inch, he took a fucking mile during that one scene where Euihyun says to him he can be perverted if he wants.

Yes, assault is never okay. What bothers me the most about this comparison. As much as Teaju changes for Euihyun, he purposely messed him up until the point of Teaju regretting it and then runs away when he finally realized what he had done. He wouldn't even take responsibility for his actions. Not until Euihyun said that's not fair. You did all this stuff to me, just to abandon me. And made him commit.
I do have a question. I know we have opposite opinions. But is Teaju more palatable because the moment you meet him, he is already a bad person. As for Ash, a bad taste is put in your mouth because Ash comes off as a wolf in sheep's clothing?

Yes, really, that's what I'm pointing out here. I hated how Ash seemed to conveniently forget that he's a decent person just because he's in rut. Rhetorical question, do you honestly forget your morals when you're drunk?? If yes, then it's a you problem, not because of the drink. That's why I have a bone to pick with the author for that. That's why I made this comment after reading Hyunjoo's rut because HE'S STILL HIM, JUST IN RUT.
As for Taeju, yes, it's because my expectations of him are rock bottom, I knew exactly what I'm going in for, that I could accept how he turned out to be in the end. It made sense to me in the grander scheme of things.

I experienced Define The Relationship in a completely different way. I wasn't shocked by Ash's rut. Throughout the whole story, there were always hints that as much as Ash was loving and caring. He liked it dirty/rough/raw whatever you want to call it. I didn't feel this intense switch in his personality. To me it was always there.
I think that's why I said it was a bad example because Teaju is dangerous and Ash is mischievous. But I get it. By having no expectations, there is no room to be hurt or betrayed.
But can all agree that Cha and Jinha are just amazing. They compliment each other so well.
Seth and Theo are another omegaverse couple that I think are perfect for each other.
See, it's possible to show a dominant alpha in rut yet still respectful and there's no assault whatsoever. I twisted my panties a bunch when this happened in Define the Relationship, but I got downvoted to oblivion with people saying it's just fantasy so it's okay. Lol assault is never okay, I don't ever wanna see anyone glorifying it.
Also adding here that this is why I'll always promote Waterside Night coz even if the start was so abhorrent, there's real actual character growth and the ML wasn't just being abusive just for the sake of fulfilling whatever fetish regarding nonconsensual sex
