I actually prefer this situation with the parents. They're not abusive but they're not perfect either. I've read too many isekai novels and mangas where the parents are super perfect or super kind and let's face it: it makes the plot boring. No parent can be that always perfect anyway. At least the parents here, including the king and queen aren't your typical convenient characters, they actually have lowkey complexity
