I understand that he’s coming from a place of thinking she’s some sort of spoiled noble lady, but that doesn’t excuse him ignoring her emotions and opinions repeatedly. While they both could communicate better, it feels like he’s making a lot of assumptions and using those assumptions as an excuse to infantilize and disrespect her. He’s constantly treating her like her supposed life experience of being a spoiled noble lady would have had no struggles, which is just disrespectful in my opinion. Like, everyone has their own struggles in life regardless of if they were worse than his or not it doesn’t mean that it’s any less valid. And yes, I understand that it’s coming from a place of concern but it’s just annoying to see him repeatedly take out his anger on her. Honestly she’s been just as frustrating, but as of right now the author has only informed us of her past so it’s all we can work with in the context of their relationship until author clues us in on where Riftan is coming from and why he’s acting like a dipshit.
