1. This is the fourth life. Ines and Carcel were married in the first TRUE timeline but their lives were destroyed by crown princess. I would not say they were happily married because crown princess poisoned Ines since she was 16 years and Ines’s health was slowly deteriorating. She also lost her son and daughter who were likewise poisoned just like her. In all of that tragedy, Carcel was an amazing husband to her but she wasn’t a good wife to him. This is the timeline that has the most angst. Ines was also slowly dying so she was like a cancer patient fighting to stay alive.
2. Naturally, since the crown prince regressed twice and have memories of all timelines, he adjusts his behavior in an effort to achieve his goals. That’s why he’s acting differently in this fourth timeline. When he married Ines, it wasn’t about Carcel as much as it was about getting revenge on Luciano who led the charge to depose him and execute him in the TRUE first timeline.
3. Obviously this manhwa has readers confused about the third timeline. That pendant belongs to Ines. It’s her grandmother’s keepsake that Ines gave to him, a complete stranger, after having sex with him. The pendant was not his. When she gave it to him, she even told him not to get the wrong idea as though saying she wasn’t paying him for the sex just had with him.
As to why he left it, he knew Ines was engaged to Carcel and knew she might come to that town. He left the pendant for her to recognize. Where’s he won’t go to her, he probably wanted her to come to him. The Apostle of God put a stop to his intentions because he would only cause Ines to end up in tragedy again and miss her chance at true happiness.
For instance, didn’t the pendant almost kill her? Of Carcel hadn’t walked into the room when he did, she would have died. He’s the one who saved her life. So Apostle of God stopped the painter from causing more trouble by showing him that Ines killed their child then stabbed herself in the neck. That was a wake up call for painter guy to realize while he simply died, she committed murder-suicide. He himself will tell Carcel that Ines and him would never be able to stand each other’s company because of what she did…that is, kill their child.

Oh damn, I was under the impression that they were happy in their first life, but I always wondered why she wanted Carcel to be with another while he wished for her to be happy. Hence the separation. And here I thought I knew all the spoilers, but glad to read the actual details of the first life. That’s absolutely heartbreaking. Why did the prince poison her? For power, jealousy?

I’m also literally waiting for the necklace scene to occur where Carcel and painter guy finally meet. When the story first showed the necklace I thought it would happen soon but it’s been over 20+ chapters and nothing has happened. Just got to patiently wait I guess. I’m hoping when Carcel goes back it will happen soon

It’s the crown princess. For various reasons. More:
She thought Ines pitied her when her parents died and she didn’t like Ines for that. Oscar wanted Ines and Ines rejected him and how dare Ines reject him. She was also jealous that Oscar only wanted Ines. So her reasons are several. She didn’t want Ines to love happily because she knew Carcel would make Ines happy.
Ines and Carcel lived happily the five years before the day they both died. That’s because Ines finally understood she should spend her time valuing the time she had left to live rather than trying to make Carcel choose someone else because their children died and he would have no heir to pass down the title to. Ines loved Carcel but deliberately did things to hurt him to push him away. Then when he leaves, she misses him and prays for him. Fortunately Carcel put down his foot after trying to respect her wishes and decided to do what’s best for her and them. Only after he found out how sick she was, he took her to Calztela and nursed her back to health himself. He’s already a good husband but this time he took a demotion at his job and stayed locally to nurse her himself when she’s in and out of coma. With all his effort, she began to gain strength, began to walk again and was eventually able to walk in the gardens outside.

Clarification
He knew she took her own life out of desperation. Ines had to believe in religion to even think about being with them in the afterlife. So, no, Ines just simply ended her life after taking her child’s life. It’s only in the fourth timeline that Ines became religious. Therefore she thinks of the afterlife only in this life and names her ship that Carcel gives her The Eternity and she visits her tomb and talks about the afterlife.
Regardless, even if the painter understands why she committed murder-suicide, it doesn’t change the fact that neither of them will be able to stand each other’s company. It doesn’t change the fact that she killed the child. You say her family intended to kill the child but even Ines admits she doesn’t know if they would have actually done it. Moreover, Ines takes full responsibility for her actions. She’s the one who started the tragedy of that timeline. On the night Luciano married to his wife, she and Carcel watched over the wedding night and she told Carcel about how much she regrets distancing herself from Luciano and how everything was her fault. The painter had sent to tell her via Carcel to blame him for everything but Ines tells Carcel the painter lied and she knows she’s responsible for the child’s death and putting her family in a difficult place because she knows Luciano loves her and would never deliberately do anything to hurt her.
The problem with this manhwa adaptation is that they continue to cover up the truth of how everything started and why her family had to resort to such desperate measures.

The season will probably end at Carcel meeting him. Not sure why you guys are so interested in the necklace though. The most interesting part of that arc is Carcel getting memories of the other timelines. Ines had pretty much forgotten about that necklace. The next big development for Ines is gaining the original timeline memories. That will be the new focus for her along with developing her relationship with Carcel more.

Spoiler: new chapter
Now Carcel is getting memories.

hii so I read a while back about some spoilers that I was wondering if someone could confirm for me.
1. That this is actually fl 4th life, not third. The first one was that she was happily married w carcel w children. Idk why but she doesn’t remember this one for some reason. And naturally the second was the one w the crowned prince.
2. The crown prince from the second life and later lives remembered the previous. Basically he remembered the first one, which is why he married Ines to satisfy his inferiority complex with carcel well as to explains why he assaults her every time Ines and carcel spoke. (this is about 2nd life when she was married to him). He also remembers in this life, which is evidently shown, but also the small details. His aunt, carcels mother casually states that he simply “changed his ways” suddenly out of nowhere in passing conversation. This is also said in paralel when describing Ines, someone who has in fact come back.
3. Okay this one isn’t a spoiler just a sneaky suspicion and speculation I have. That emilino (idk how to spell it but her poor painter husband guy) remembers the previous life. It would explain the whole necklace situation going on.
Because in this life, fl is financially supporting him as well as other painters, as well as have given them opportunities as he is now painting for the pope or someone idk forgot. U maybe be thinking, how does this relate?
Because as we see before the necklace is his family keepsake, one he gifted Ines because it resembled her eyes. This established that it holds extreme importance to not only his family, but holds meaning in the relationship between fl and him. So why would he sell it in this life when he is financially stable? And why did the shopkeeper say he needed to inform the owner of the necklace that “she” has seen it? And why did he sell it to a shop that not only holds importance in their previous life (where they settled down and where he died) as well as where she is staying with her now husband? Thus he remembers, which isn’t so surprising as the crown prince as well remembers.
However I dont think he did this in a way where he wants her to come back to him, more just a bittersweet way for him to tell her that she still is precious to him but he has learnt from his past life that it is meant to be this way. There is no way for the two of them to life harmoniously, so this is my token to you so that you don’t forget me entirely.
It is interesting that her last lovers are slowly one by one essentially remembering their past with her. Anyways lol kinda went all english essay mode. Idk i can write for days if it’s something I have an interest in.
