Well, if I'm understanding correctly, she has no idea where she is, and doesn't have much of a way to make a living. She is not from this world, with little common sense that the others have.
She feels like she needs their support in order to survive in this world. You can see throughout the chapter that she wishes to reject what they propose, as it seems sketchy to her.
I'm sorry but I'm hating it already. Sure, dictate her actions for her. Sign a contract just coz they tell you to.
