I don't think she knows that her child could eat her, and thinks it's a normal child (?)
Right she really doesn’t know she suspects but ML could have explain to her to make sure she understand before doing so.
Not only that but he's assuming that the baby will eat her, he doesn't know, not only that but he's blinded to the fact that she's turning into a monster herself.
Is she dumb? Does she not realize if she has the baby she wont survive. If she knew it would eat her she would be scared herself
