It’s not whether or not he is a gangster. He lied about who he was, all his life Shin has considered himself a low life. So finally find someone in a similar path was refrain by to him. He trusted Jake 100, in his eyes he was being used. Imagine this, if Jake didn’t fall for Shin who did a a couple of illegal things (driving that car full of drugs). Would the people working with Jake see him as an accomplice?

It's a pride issue for Shin. Besides the fact Jake lied to him and crushed his trust, Shin has always been relieved by the fact they're both low lives. He thought their connection was genuine because they both struggled and suffered in their past. Now, he realizes Jake is not like him and has never been. It will take him a bit of time but he'll end up realizing how in fact it's a blessing and not a curse. I guess he just needs to know that Jake truly liked him all along and he didn't use him for his own interests
Please explain to me why (ma)Shingun (hehehe) got so upset that his boyfriend isn't a gangster? Most people would be relieved???
