The seme has literally not taken his pants off once, every time they freak he is wearing pants, I actually saw this comment before I started reading and coz they pointed it out I literally couldn’t focus on anything but that lmao. Must be the authors reluctance to draw hot “seme” booty cheeks

Welcome to like at least 50% of yaoi. My theory is so they don’t show the semes butthole bc that’s “gay”. Like I’ve read some deep dives into the why of yaoi in japan (it’s a misogyny thing & women not being able to see themselves as sexual->& why old yaoi only had very girly bottoms, they were literally a stand in for the women so females could enjoy smut w/o guilt); & how gayness isn’t a well understood concept in japan. (Historically Yaoi was written for women by women.) So in a lot of Japanese yaoi, the seme is the top & can never be seen as the bottom. So any showing of butthole equates to bottoming. And bottoming is gay. Lots of cultures see being penetrated as gay but being the penetrator, a lot less gay. (Literally look up turkey & the army ie homosexuality, lol.) Anyways that’s my hypothesis why so many semes are drawn fcking with pants on. Also why you so rarely see a top who has actually been the bottom in their life. Also why there’s so many straight semes.
Like it’s changing but I’ve been reading this sht awhile & I think most changes have been bc of them making yaoi for a western audience. But a lot of the same tropes remain. It’s one of the reasons I like manhwas more. I don’t hate tropes but idk, it gets boring.
