The ML misheard Seon Wooyeon's name. They heard 'Seon' as 'Sun' and 'Woo-yeon' as 'Sun-woo Yeon.' They combined 'Sun' with 'Woo' to create 'Sunwoo' and thought 'Yeon' was the first name
Remember they're translated... In Korean they do sound very similar.
