I mean he basically said in this most recent chapter that he wasn't awake until he inserted the cousins tape (chapter 3) so he wouldn't of been able to sabotage anybody since he wasn't awake before that point. Unless he had been previously awake and had his tape removed. But as of what we know right now he knows everything he knows now by paying attention to everyone/everything since he became aware of the horror game from chapter 3 onwards
