it just lazy writing, the parallels are not well build, the impact of her "difference" was literally create by herself, not something like prejudice and homophobia that have external consequences
I get that a hook was needed to make they talk about being public about their relationship but it was just dumb
What Mi-ok was trying to get at was the "being different from everyone else" concept. Like things may be moving on for her and she still feels lonely and can't move on from the fact that she isn't like everyone else.....which could be a plot point parallel to the issues that may arise in the future. Especially raising a child in the countryside where it's a bit more difficult to recieve acceptance for things out of "their norm". Sooo...Mi-ok may have been projecting but they do need to talk about their relationship for the future.....(anyways Mi-ok, that was upsetting and maybe don't voice your opinions next time)
