nah bro i understand, but if you give it a reread you realize that nobody besides mikado ever shows hiyakawa any love at all, ever, and its only until after he nearly kills himself in his own personal virtual recreation of cult slavery hell that anyone even thinks for one second to ask him "are you okay" (and its not even a proper are you okay, its just checking for vitals) hurts so fucking bad
this is so good and love sure comes in all ways. also not mikado tearing up their contractual marriage i might just headcannon they renewed their vows and get wedded totally with consent and hiyakawa gonna get his ass dragged to work by a handsome spectacled kind husband who saved him shipping aside this sure felt like found family and it's lovely how erika and hiyakawa finally freed themselves from being exploited and moved on
