Story Time cuz I got triggered: My father saw himself in a similar situation during college. His dad just up and quit his well paying job while my dad, the oldest son, was starting Med School, so he had to work on hospitals earlier (all under the wraps since he was technically too “new” to get those jobs) so he could continue studying in another city and even sent money to the family. Needless to say, they weren’t that grateful and nowadays his mental and physical health sucks, and he has a strained relationship with his mom (grandpa passed).
That’s not the whole story, but my point is: don’t waste your early adulthood away because of your family’s (specially your parents’) bad decisions!!!! My dad was lowkey lucky he had his friends, my mom and her parents to help him build his life with the whole emotional support and letting him have meals there, because his side of the family was hell back then and his younger siblings were not helping AT ALL, even as adults.
