Am I the only one weirded out by the side couple? Like he's not taking care of the mermaid as a guardian, he's fully doing it with romantic thoughts. Meanwhile the mermaid isn't even fully aware of what all is happening. Idk just feels like the panther is taking advantage of the fact that the mermaid doesn't know any better.
Personally it would have been nicer if he actually managed to get the mermaid situated in a place better prepared to both take care and educate him. And then they can meet up separately without the weird social dynamic.
