Dude, trust. Read the novel. This manhua dumbs down a lot of the heavy stuff and changed a lot of the plot lines! It’s kinda sad cause the story is so good, and Edith was trying to be selfish and live…before the kidnapping incident. Poor girl was barely recognisable with the abuse she faced. Also, I’m pretty sure she tried yelling for help when she was stuck in the basement but she couldn’t even do that much.
Rize gets to live happily ever after with Cliff in the novel. They suffered absolutely NO consequences in the end. At least here the mother and father realize how horrible they have been
No wdym??? Cliff was miserable after marrying Rize/Lize. They divorced later on (luckily) and Cliff found someone else. I forgot what happened to Lize (maybe monastery, or jail).
