I think I might be in the minority thinking Leo's reaction was a bit over-dramatic. But then again, I'm an adult who has always been overly rational, even as a teen, so I dunno XD In any case, I find it understandable to be scared, especially in their culture, so I can't fault Shishimaru that much

yeah like being openly gay is scary, even for me in an open world sometimes i have to bite my tongue because not everyone is accepting, leo is interesting

I agree! we can also see that in earlier chapters, leo actually has supporters like his mom and yukarin. But shishi was burdened when his mother told him as well not to give her trouble like her brother. So I think shishi was totally understandable at that time.

i don’t think it was over dramatic, leo really loves shishimaru and it must be quite daunting, confusing and heartbreaking to think that his own love is the reason someone as cool and strong as shishimaru had run away - shishimaru always promised to protect him and for leo’s feelings to be the reason that shishimaru was so hurt (contrary to his headstrong persona) must be horrible to realise. leo ran away not only to protect himself but also to protect shishimaru, he was sad for himself, conflicted at shishimaru abandoning him and also worried for him too. that’s a lot for a child to process and handle :( esp when it’s your precious loved one’s life at stake
