He was told literally just a few chapters ago that the seme's father is an abusive pos, and then he believes him just like that? Not even one doubt, just a small push and he believes the old geezer? Even the old man was surprised by how gullible the MC is. You'd think because of all his experiences of being lied to, he'd be more cautious of people and their motives.

I think you forget in the beginning of the story the top literally forced them to get married against his will. Whle yes he did learn about some things about the top but he still can have doubts. He heard the seme literally talking about tests and the succession. Then he has red sirens going off. He never trusted the seme fully. Being a parent is a whole different thing.

I'm not forgetting that at all. I never said the top was reliable or trustworthy either. What I'm saying is that, given his experience with the top and his family (the father's disdain for him during the introduction dinner, the top's sister's stories about their father's abuse, etc) shouldn't he use his head more? Shouldn't he be more careful? More cautious? More discerning about people and their intentions? ESPECIALLY since he's a parent! Being that gullible and weak will NEVER help his son. He's already that old and jaded with life, yet still gets led around the nose by literally anyone (in this case, a practical stranger who he's been told is a neglectful, abusive, cruel man who sees his own son as an object).
I can dislike and be frustrated with a character, and also be understanding of their circumstances. These two are not mutually exclusive.
It might not be that the blonde is dumb it's just THE TOP HAS SUCH SHIT COMMUNICATION SKILLS NO WONDER HE BELIEVES THE FIRST PERSON WHO CLAIMS HE KNOWS AND WILL TELL HIM THE TRUTH I don't find this one bit surprising
