Loved Oshi No Ko when I first read it but the ending imo is trash

Aqua was my favorite character and I wanted him then anything to end end up with Kana. Having Aqua reincarnated in the beginning and then commit suicide at the end was unacceptable. I don’t blame fans in Japan for boycotting this author’s next work because you expect a better ending only to be betrayed. And what’s the point if everything ends in tragedy. If this was how it was the author should’ve labeled it as tragedy so no one expect a happy ending.

That’s my thing. I don’t feel like this story was properly labeled as a tragedy. I would have read it with a different perspective if it was.

True, and this ending basically spat on one of AI’s wishes which was for Aqua to grow up and to live a happy life as an actor together with Ruby as an idol and the dialogue where he wished to lived made it worse.

I feel like all of her wishes went to shit. Ruby is pretending she’s happy and is currently living a lie. Aqua is dead. At the end of the day all AI wanted was a happy family and that ending did not give “happily ever after” vibes.
