I'm sorry, but the FL is getting on my nerves. I totally understand that she was bullied (I don’t support it), but why is she acting like everyone is the same? I get why her classmates are 'mean' to her. What was she expecting by acting like nobody is good enough for her?

you don't know how hard for everybody to socialize especially when u don't k own how to act in a group of people, so mostly your actions will be always be based on logic. it really hard to be flexible especially in a sudden change of environment ( ̄へ ̄)

I get what you're saying, and I understand how hard it is to adjust and socialize, especially when you’ve been through bullying. I’ve been there too. But I also think it’s important to recognize that pushing people away can make things harder in the long run. I’m not saying it’s easy, but sometimes being open to others can help break that cycle.

After enduring bullying for many years, I’ve come to understand the FL. Pushing others away can be an effective way to protect oneself. You're right that it can make things more difficult, but it truly takes time: sometimes even years. It's better to get to know someone a little more before allowing them in, so you don’t get hurt again, and it makes your openness feel more worthwhile.

people who are bullied in their early years esp elementary and middle school tend to be more closed off, on guard and have low confidence with socializing (their defense mechanism) have a bit more empathy. it's not just about understanding that it is in fact her past, but for her, as long as her peace is kept and nothing changes (external events-- which will probably happen in this story), she will continue to think the way she treat other people is best for her.
