What the deal with the ml? Why's he acting so sus? Any spoilers?

Seems like ML had some violent tendencies from childhood.
I didn't finish the novel but up till where I read ML's dad is a persecutor who keeps his eyes on him because allegedly ML pushed a little girl down the stairs when he was 6 years old bcz he found her annoying, resulting in her death.
It's not clear yet if it really happened, ML's dad is acting weird
