I actually appreciate simple plots like this. He wasn't outright mean like you said, even though there was some distrust there, but he's gradually learning to as time goes on. And eventually fall in love I guess. What I want to know is what the deal with with the mom? Is she trying to prevent him from being himself cause it was said that he liked different things than what he mentioned.
I feel your pain friend. Try Daisy: How to Become the Duke's Fiancée it is both manga and book. The ML treated the FL as a human and not property (dad tried to sell) and I was already surprised. Then he proceeded to treat her as an equal, communicate (ask questions instead of allowing misunderstandings), ask for consent....continuously. He got me yo he is a rare fucking treasure. Why can't we have more like him (╥_╥)

Oh, I actually skipped it bc of the art and I thought it would be one of those cheesy bad Chinese CEO abusive ML stories and was not in the mood for trash.
It is pretty long (if I saw the correct one) so I like that. You convinced me to look at it and read. I can't believe my standards are "treat women as humans, ask consent & communicate" and still like 90% of what I read cannot fulfill these conditions properly.
I understand what you mean. I think I said it little more harsher than I actually meant. Sometimes simple is nice. I found the overall plot to being quite boring but I love the characters and dynamic. Everything else was belov average in my opinion. This might also change when I reread this. Maybe I just wasn't on the mood or the problem is the translation. I have noticed it makes a huge difference.
Also yes, I'm also curious about the mom. Honestly the translation is not the best but you can still get a weird vibe from how they are drawn. I'm maybe thinking that the ML is trying to hard to be like his brother and lost his own identity and the mom is being partly harsh because something related to it.
NGL art could be better but despite what weird things the artist did to his face he is still just so good I can't not love him. I haven't decided wether fo finish the manga or book. If I could smash the ML's soul into his butler's body I would have my ultimate bias. Granted both boys are good in different ways. I love them both
I can definitely see the mom doing that. It's wrong and overall very controlling of her. Seen and read so many stories with parents that do stuff like this, even if a sibling didn't die.
The plot sucks but I'm so desperate for an ML who is not a man child that I will eat this up so good. Like he immediately put down rules, says he respects her, will consult her, even if he was thinking she might be a spy, he didn't outright be mean to her. He communicates even if he is akaward. I can't believe how low the standards are. Like man who acts like a decent human being is so rare in these type of stories that I just love it. Also the babies are so dam cute.
