Personally i think itd be more reassuring if glunn was like "im not taking you just because i wanna f you, im taking you bc youre the best alchemist ive ever seen and i need your help to break this curse. Me taking u out of country is in no way dependant on you reciprocating my feelings." It seems more likely for a noble's feelings to change than ennid to just lose all his skills.
fair, but i think in this context (in which ennid's abilities and status are being abused), glunn telling him that he doesnt need to be useful/prove himself means a lot. especially since ennids had to spend his whole life working twice as hard as everyone else
