okay to explain a little better.
There are 3 timelines. In the first world the apocalypse comes and Sayoung ends up dying. In his grief J ends up turning back time with the watch. However, in the second timeline they fail to stop the apocalypse again and J ends up dying and Sayoung in his grief uses the watch to turn back time. However, the watch should have only been able to be used once, but J was so strong they got one extra chance. But, sayoung wasn't strong enough and so sayoung of the second world had to sacrifice himself to become the anchor. Essentially being stuck in the west sea rift and losing his humanity/ emotions. But it also lead to secondary consequences for the 3rd timeline where the west sea rift opens and J gets stuck there for 8 years. This isn't supposed to happen, and in those 8 years J and Sayoung are actually supposed to come to know eachother. Also, due to the failed creation of a new timeline other anomalies occur such as the gang that are making the drugs talked about in this chapter. There's more, but I've already spoiled like a lot. But there's a like a lot more which is really sad. Especially when it comes to the Sayoung of the 2nd timeline.
novel readers spoil me on how this gets angsty, jst abt all the comments i’ve seen related to the novel have all mentioned that it’s heavily angsty, and i js can’t see how this story could possibly be heart-wrenching, so spoilers big or small would be very appreciated
