? Well that shadowy figure with the mask is clearly his friend from the band of the hawk. Naturally i concluded his other friends who died that way also got the same fate

Uhm no they did not... They got eaten, all but Guts, Casca and Rickert. I'm pretty sure it's explained somewhere in the manga that the killed Sacrifices can't come back from the vortex. Volume 3 or 4 I think.
So ig all that died in the eclipse were reborn as monsters……thats a shame…I hope he atleast recognizes Guts
