like you said she knows her place in the palace. the biggest reason behind her silence being that royalty FAVORS sons > their daughters!! he’d receive light punishment, even at the cause of her death. then his mom was known to also be conniving and horrible to other people/consorts and she 1000% enables his behavior (THE ANIMAL KILLING HELLO). they’ve been able to get away with their crimes because everyone is scared of them from threats, the consort’s backing, and favor from the king
