I could have worded it better true but that doesn’t change shit from my point. Abuse does not excuse mysoginy mind you that guy got beat the fuck up by man multiple times, and don’t get me wrong I get that he felt’s betrayed by his mother more than the guy because that’s his MOTHER and she isn’t supposed to let that happen. But yet he only hate and harm woman he’s trauma is real and very unfortunate but him hurting woman is not a response to it it’s just mysoginy. I’m tired of authors trying to normalize it from their ml

You acting like I know you…? Bitch you ain’t know nothing about me lmaoo. I can assure you I had my fair share of beating from both my parent and other bad thing. Mind you my « mother » deadass fractured my rib and yet you don’t see me scaming and ruining innocent woman life. And that was my only point the ml is traumatized yes but that doesn’t change the fact that he IS misogynistic and that abuse isn’t an excuse

literacy goes brrrrr
the ML goes to jail, serves his sentence, gets stabbed, tagged @ work as a criminal, keeps on getting pulled back towards a life of crime i.e., showing reinsertion isnt usually probable or organic post-prison, and the latest arc is 99% focused on whether one can truly atone even with love and care for someone (as a negligent mother or a neglected son turned scammer). p sure the author isnt normalizing anything here and has even been explicitely showcasing how unhealthy the MC is being by unconditionally forgiving ML even just in the last chapter lmao

Wow, I think there’s a misunderstanding here. I’m not saying the author normalized their unhealthy relationship. I’m saying they normalized the guy’s misogyny. For example, not once does the ML apologize to any of the women he hurt, and his weird comments about women are never questioned. He served his time to win back his lover, not because his views on women changed. My whole issue with this character is his misogyny. His redemption arc only addresses his actions toward the MC, not his overall character. That’s the problem

How is it normalizing? It makes perfect sense in context of the character? If the people were just misogynistic and everyone accepted it, THAT would be normalizing. But it's literally just ONE character and it makes perfect sense considering his past. And who says, that he can't have character development and maybe get over his misogyny? It's really not that deep sometimes

It’s not just one character though? Like, there’s him and the other guy who slut-shamed women, and no one seems to care about it. Honestly, the only thing that’s treated as a big deal here is the scam. Meanwhile, the MC is literally the only character (that’s relevant to the story) who hasn’t been weird or disrespectful toward women.
Also, I never said he can’t have character development and get over his misogyny. All I said is that he *is* misogynistic right now, which is true because, let’s be real, he hasn’t changed yet. My issue is that the story doesn’t seem to focus on that part of his behavior at all. Like, his sexism just isn’t being treated as something that matters, and that’s frustrating.
I’m not trying to make it “too deep,” but when the narrative skips over stuff like this, it kinda feels like it’s downplaying it. Characters can have flaws, but the story should at least acknowledge them instead of sweeping them under the rug, y’know?
I fucking hate the ml. he went through child abused because of his mother and her boyfriend and turned into a misogynistic freak who harm ONLY woman for no reason. Yano baby they could never make me hate you. In my book he did just one thing wrong and that’s nothing compared to what the ml did
