I read this such a long time a ago that I forgot the name. I'm glad I immediately recognized the cover because this story was something else. It was the very first time I was shown such a strong depiction of a female lead in a hard knocks kind of story. I took a serious look at Japanese manga and wondered why they don't show strong female leads like this without being over the top.
