
You're right. Not to mention that the story purposely and amply focused on him being a spoiled brat when he was younger, a rich kid in his own privileged bubble that was brought up with people catered to him and him only, so much so that he's socially inept.
He liked hanging out with them cuz they're people that don't care too much for his status and money, and don't let him give them shit and put him in his place, but still don't mind being friends with him.
He seems more "capable" now in his 30s, but that's still the way he grew up, and he's still a privileged rich man who never faced rejection besides "Mr. Kang's"
Maybe I would have pitied him a little more if he was younger but like you're a 30 plus years old man, you can't be acting like this just because a crush doesn't like you like that...I hope this can be wrapped up quickly. To me this whole plot line was very unnecessary and dragged out
