You makes some good points on both sides. I’ll just add some things in the mix that I’ve thought about too. With the recent revelation that the audience and Giselle had about the OGFL, his teacher, and Leniel’s origin story, they all sought to cleanse him of dark magic which is essential to his being and would kill him. The OGFL seems like a good-natured white magic user, but what we come to learn is she’s jealous of his power and like everyone else pretends to care. The OGFL was locked-up, but with our current insight we know it wasn’t the villain who was obsessively in love with her but maybe a conflict of wanting her to reveal her true motives and seeking revenge. With Giselle, like she noticed, she can freely roam the mansion, she’s not able to leave but other then the safe haven for criminals she didn’t have anywhere else she could go (but everyone knows the option to leave goes a long way). I think when she’s alone and regretting what she said it may be perceived differently…1) she’s not afraid that Lenial will kill her based on his moods like she thought in the beginning, 2)she’s more comfortable expressing herself and doesn’t keep her true thoughts hidden 3) Even Lenial is surprised at his changes, he’s not concerned about just his safety anymore and that’s risky to him, I think there’s more personal growth for him.

I hope there is. There is quite a bit communication between them, what they both lack is actually listening and understanding the other person. Both of them. It especially annoys me how he brushes off whatever she says, like confronts him and makes good points and he just treats her like some angry puppy. I don’t like when he sees her more like a fun, cute pet than a person (that’s the vibe I got about baby chick comment and that whole self-conversion). They both need to start actually working together instead of doing things one-sidedly.
Okay so, I get both their points. She gets in danger a lot and he wants to protect her, but taking away her freedom is also not a solution. I wish he actually listened to her more too, though I’m glad he let her cool off when she was mad at him instead of forcing his way in. The thing that frustrates me the most is Giselle though We can all agree that Leniel is quite crazy + a red flag, but that only works if she’s either as crazy as him or she can handle him. And recently, it’s really annoying how whenever she puts her foot down with him, she immediately starts feeling guilty and kinda retracts it. Especially when she’s more than valid to call him out. She becomes a “damsel in distress” that way. He’s the kind of guy you HAVE to be firm with, otherwise it will turn into a toxic mess. I don’t like them making her so weak-minded, I wish for her to become more assertive and confront him properly when needed. At least that’s my opinion.
I really hope she also learns to use magic, so he doesn’t have to save her all the time
