He has low self esteem.... He doesn't understand how to love himself first before loving someone else due to the fact that he has been abandoned by his families after the tragedy. Even before that happened he has been portrayed as a character that will always be the family pride, taking care of others. This personality of his is what drove him to meet han juwon. If he didn't whistleblowed for his colleague, he wouldn't be in a pickle where he had to survive by making deals with han juwon.
It's not that he's doing charity work. He wants to love someone via his own way. Even if it means sacrificing what he likes or bearing any pain from it. Esp when the love he has is not normal per say. I think people should put more appreciation towards Lee Seodan's character. It should be even more the case since the story is from his POV
