And then Japan blessed the world with Yuri!!! on ice. Not only the show but even the dounjinshi and fanfiction that stem from Yuri on ice are so heartwarming and livening-the total opposite of your typical seme/uke yaoi story.The yaoi universe is a huge turn off when compared to more realistic,healthy homosexual relationships or all relationships that shows like yuri!!! on ice showcase ^-^ Reading the latest chapter I was like "soooo unhealthy non-consenting geez,"
Ya I feel that, where my pure hearted yaoi relationships at! I actually can't stand queer bait like YOI but to each their own. What really gets my goat are the yaoi that are abusive and rapey and pretend they're not! I can actually enjoy Killing Stalking cause that shit knows it's fucked up. (and technically all the sex is consensual) While I don't much care for rape in the first place, a lot of yaoi these days play it off with pretty words like "sorry I can't hold back" The semes are manipulative and the ukes cry too much. Tears are a sign that someone isn't having fun. (Ya crying cause ur emotional is a thing but who tf cries during sex unless they're in pain) It doesn't stop at the rape either, most yaoi couples are in unhealthy relationships that I'd only be a part of in my nightmares. I don't understand how people can derive pleasure from seeing examples of such enormously unhealthy relationships. Frankly their distrust and abuse of each other gets tiresome to me.
