Ye in the flashback it shows her having an unreadable expression when looking at FL who was begging for her to kill her. And she remembers that fl lost Theor (who she killed) and she felt guilty for putting her through that. Maybe you’re right that she only felt guilt at that moment cause she sure as hell didn’t feel it before
The Mages begged her to apologize to their child simply because she’s the only person who will. While what Anita did was wrong and while it is understandable that she had hatred in her heart for that man. hurting those who had nothing to do with it was wrong. And then claiming she felt guilty when she killed Theor… yet she kept going? Regardless if she felt guilty or not. She shouldn’t have done any of it in the first place. It’s not fl’s fault she became that way. It’s not theor’s fault she became that way. So why is she taking her anger out on the wrong people?
Well I can kinda understand it cause I also love my family. I’d have also crashed out. And the hatred in her heart had no where else to go and went straight for the closest thing she could grab which was fl and her family. It’s still wrong of her to do so. And she knew it was wrong which resulted in fl’s time being sent back. FL can apologize to her but that doesn’t mean she’s obligated to. It wasn’t her fault. If only there was a way to bring that original emperor back to life so she could take her resentment and anger out on him instead… but that’s wishful thinking.
Also fuck her ex fiance he had no reason to do anything unlike Anita. He doesn’t deserve retribution but now I’m questioning if the og emperor reincarnated as him somehow? Maybe I’m just rambling
