Because he thinks of her as nothing but a possession. When he says she "hurts" him, he is saying he doesn't like that she doesn't obey him and more importantly, is getting along with someone he hates (ML/the Duke).

So weird of him because he never has anything to say when Sephia brings up Titi like look what's HE'S doing. This guy gets on my nerves so bad
