The tower actually was a luxurious place she would have lived like a princess if not for the bad guys. Also the father said that he is his son now, end that he shouldn't worry about proving himself. Since he was skilled he became the duke but he still wanted to marry Perry even after told that he doesn't have to.
I still don't get some things...if the duke still lived and wanted to protect her, but gave her up for her own good in a way....how tf was he alright with her being locked up in a tower?
Why was everyone just accepting that she was suddenly locked away?? In what world does that make sense??? Even if she was a bastard and you wanted her gone that still wouldn't make any sense?? But they were all fine with it and even were involved in the maintenance/patrolling of the thing?? tf?
I probably just missed something but it just doesn't make sense to me.
The second is the fiance thing. They adopted a kid...so they could betroth him to her. Ok. If you really think she's not part of the family then I get it. But why would they let him be the next leader of the dukedom?? When he's adopted?? Just cause they wanted the daughter back? He could literally adopt her himself, that's so unnecessary. But even more, it's more unnecessary to hand him the title when your first son is there. He's an asshole and I hate him but it doesn't make sense.
