What's the significance of dragons here?

Are they the bringer of destruction? A natural disaster? Do they always indiscriminately kill humans? What is the justification for there to be an entire army specifically for killing dragons?

Yes, they are. In the novel dragons are beings that kill all kinds of life including nature. Their curses and corpses contaminate everything around making it barren leaving nothing for humans, dwarves, and elves to live on. I can't remember much from the novel haha sorry. The dragon slayer army now is not what the founding king frausen had built. They have a different agenda now why they kill the dragons and its run by a family with dragon blood. ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭ You'll know more since the manhwa is already on this arc but mc have more side quests to get stronger

Oh ok so dragon slayer army is a good thing, but we might be having a corrupt dragon slayer army. Got it.
