the formulation youre talking about nonoxynol 9 is mostly a female contraceptive, available commercially exclusively as a gel for vaginal surfactant usage. there is NO oral formulation of it available, especially none that men take. this is misinfo.

Please look it up and you'll see that there is one available, maybe not in your home country sure but there is. I also mentioned of course in my comment that both male and female can use it. Men usually use condoms with the gel ON IT. But it is available to be taken orally and other ways, it is simply not common. Please research it is worth it there's many interesting forms of contraceptives being made and created every year it's fascinating what science and medicine can achieve :)

For those calling him dumb for taking the pill and the author dumb, y'all look dumb help ajanajajeb he's taking a spermicide that comes in tablet form. They come in tablets, gel, suppositories, dissolvable gels, etc. They take about 10-15 minutes to take effect. What happens is that the medication (most approved one is nonoxynol-9 aka n-9) it basically prevents the sperm from being able to swim/move correctly and impregnate an egg. Usually you'd take it with a COMBINED also other form of birth control but it can work on its own. Both men or women can take it. Women insert it in the vagina and take the tablet while men can use condoms coated with it, gel and tablets. If anyone wants more details on birth control and safe sex lmk I'll reply the best to my abilities. Edit: pls research and if you don't find information, keep digging cause from what I've researched it's not currently a worldwide form being taken (the tablet ver) so you might not find immediate info if it's not available in your country/region. As mentioned above it's not taken/used alone and usually combined with another form of contraceptives such as condoms and much more. So what they're doing in the manhwa is still not necessarily the best form of birth control like just use condoms and she should take a morning after pill if it breaks or there's any leakage (for some reason this happens all the time in manhwas.. what was the point of the condom if you nut and it leaks out inside regardless..??). Condoms aren't 100% the most effective form of contraceptives. The best contraceptive? Abstinence lol
